This is an amazingly simple step by step easy-to-follow guide on how to burn dvd movies even if they have copy protection.

These days making a backup copy of your dvd movies is actually very simple, even when many dvd movies are encrypted with copy protection. In this article you will be provided with all the information you need to be able burn copy protected DVD movies, so you will always have a backup copy. Also I have a link where you can buy cheap dvd cases, and also where you can download dvd case media covers so they look just like a store bought movie.

1: You will have to have a DVDR/DVDRW drive. You need at least 1, however 2 is better that way you do not have to swap the disk.

2: You will need some blank DVD media disks that match the format of your DVDR/DVDRW drive. Here is where I get mine, http://www.newegg.com/ do a search for 100 DVD 16x gear head.

3: There are 2 ways you can go about burning copy protected dvds, you can get a freeware version like DVDshrink, or you can do what I did and get the 21 day free trial version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD, then once I saw how easy and great it burned copy protected movies, I paid for it. You may already have another form of burning software, like Nero. These programs have some great features, but will not make back-up copies of any DVD that has copy protection.

You can get a copy of DVDshrink at this site http://www.esnips.com/do a search for DVDshrink you will want to click the link that looks like this dvdshrink32setup.zip.

DVDshrink will copy many movies, but the newer movies coming out have copy protection that will give DVDshrink errors and stop you from making back-up copies.

AnyDVD and CloneDVD, trust me you will not need any other program than these 2. I was frustrated so many times making coasters and not being able to back up my movies. Once I got these 2 programs I have not had any problems making back up copies of copy protected dvds since.

They are so very easy to use, the AnyDVD sits in the background stripping protection, and the CloneDVD will guide you through in 4 steps to start the burn process. No need to worry if that movie is too big for that 4.7 GB DVD, CloneDVD will re-compress it so it fits automatically.

You can even remove the annoying advertisements at the beginning of the movie also. I highly recommend these 2 programs for backing up your DVD movies. Below are the links.

Lord of the Rings on Blu-Ray

Sweet! Lord of the Rings will be on Blu-Ray in April! The greatest movie trilogy of my lifetime, probably ever. I am a big Star Wars fan, but Lord of the Rings no doubt is far above Star Wars in my mind. I can not wait to see how awesome this is going to look on my hi-def 50" 1080p plasma.

Burn Blu-Ray and HD movies

Ok, so many of you probably already have a Blu-Ray player and are already starting to offload your DVDs by selling them on Ebay, and are asking "How do I make a backup copy of my now more expensive Blu-Ray movies?" Glad you asked, because lets face it, Blu-Ray movies are much more expensive than DVDs, and if it gets damaged bam your talking like $20 to $30 bucks down the tubes!

The first thing you will need if you do not have them already is at least 1 Blu-Ray Writer or Blu Ray ReWrite preferably 2. Then you will need some Blu-Ray BD-R (once writable) or Blu-Ray BD-RE (re-writable).

Here is one to check out on Amazon.com
Pioneer BDR-205 - Disk drive - BD-RE - 12x/2x/8x - Serial ATA - internal - 5.25"

Now what you need is some software that is specially made for Blu-Ray movies and HD DVD movies. It is the same software company I recommend for burning backup copies of your DVD movies. AnyDVD HD runs in the background, you will see it in the tray near your date and time and whenver you put a Blu-Ray movie in, it will search and remove copy protection so that you can then use CloneDVD to make your backup copy. Never fear of damaged Blu-Ray movies again. This along with Clonedvd are the only 2 programs you need both from the same software company. I use them and have never had any issues.

AnyDVD HD is the "must have" utility for the serious home theater enthusiast using a media center / home theater PC.
